A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

Before you join us

I’m new to fishing. Is this for me?

You’re welcome to explore the club. Each event listing will explain who it is suitable for, what equipment is needed and any age or supervision requirements. Check those details before booking.

Where will events take place?

The venue and directions will be published with each event. Please only attend a confirmed event and check access arrangements before travelling.

Do I need a rod fishing licence?

For freshwater angling in England, anglers aged 13 and over generally need the appropriate Environment Agency rod fishing licence. Junior licences for ages 13–16 are free. A competition ticket does not replace a rod licence or other required permission. Check the official licence guidance →

Can I buy a ticket on the day?

Online sales are not open yet. Once available, the QR code at an event will take you to the ticket page. On-the-day tickets will only be offered where the event allows them and spaces remain.

PLEASE READ BEFORE FISHING

Health, safety
& fishing rules

Look after yourself, each other and the water.

General guidance only. The organiser must provide a venue-specific risk assessment, emergency arrangements and confirmed match rules for each event. Read the venue notices and attend the safety briefing before fishing.

01. Staying safe by the water

In an emergency — call 999

Give the precise location and follow the call handler’s instructions. Do not enter the water to rescue someone. Throw a suitable floating aid or throw line from a safe position. If you fall in, float on your back, control your breathing and call for help.

02. Fishing responsibly

03. Competition basics

Each competition must publish its own final rules before entry opens. These will confirm eligibility, prices, refunds, draw and fishing times, permitted tackle and bait, weigh-in arrangements, prizes and how disputes are handled.

Fish only from your allocated peg, observe the start and finish signals, and follow the steward’s instructions. Report welfare concerns, incidents and unsafe conditions immediately.
